Xap Corporation Launches CCCApply.org - The First Website of its Kind for the Largest System of Higher Education in the World
CCCApply.org Launches to Service the California Community College System Composed of 108 Colleges Statewide Serving More Than 2.5 Million Students.
Los Angeles, CA July 11, 2001 Xap Corporation, a pioneer in electronic and Internet-based information management systems for college-bound students, today announced the launch of CCCApply.org, www.cccapply.org, the first application and information site designed specifically for the California Community College system.
This system of two-year public institutions is composed of 108 statewide colleges organized into 72 districts and serves more than 2.5 million students. It is the largest system of higher education in the world.
"This is an exciting and natural next step in the growth of Xap.
We are continually looking to expand the opportunities for students by building websites that service all interests and all colleges," said Allen Firstenberg, President and CEO of Xap Corporation.
"The California Community College system is highly regarded by educators worldwide and so the addition of this system is very important to us."
On the new CCCApply.org site, students can enter their information just once and apply to any of the participating colleges.
In addition to the admission application, students can access key facts about the colleges, campus tours, contact information for each college, financial aid information and search tools for finding the college that meets their needs and interests.
As well, the site is specifically designed to meet legal requirements and usability standards related to accessibility for students with disabilities.
"We are thrilled to have partnered with Xap on this website," said Kirsten Macintyre, Public Information Officer for the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office.
"We are continually looking for ways to expand our offerings to students and make the process of applying to our schools simple, fast and accessible.
The new CCCApply.org will encourage students to research and pursue their dreams of a college education."
CCCApply.org is the latest student services site to be released by Xap.
Xap is also the exclusive developer of Mentor™ sites, which are Internet-based, student-centered websites that provide students and their parents a simpler, friendlier and free way to plan for college, apply for admission and explore financial options for their college education.
In California, Xap Corporation now has sites that cover the California State University system (www.csumentor.edu), the California Community Colleges (www.cccapply.org), and the Association of Independent California Colleges and Universities (www.aiccumentor.org), as well as a statewide site for all colleges and universities in California (www.californiacolleges.edu).
Xap also has live Mentor™ sites in 11 other states across the country with several others in development.
