Xap Corporation Announces Another Competitive Contract Win

Xap Corporation selected by the State of Georgia to deliver comprehensive statewide student education portal.

Culver City, CA – July 7, 2004 – Xap Corporation, the leading provider of integrated student services systems for the higher education marketplace, announced today that it has been selected by the State of Georgia to design and host Georgia's "Student Access to Higher Education System." Xap was awarded the contract through a competitive bid process conducted by the Georgia Student Finance Commission, the State of Georgia's student financial aid agency. This award is the third major contract won by Xap this year following Illinois and California Colleges' Student Friendly system.

"We are very pleased to have been entrusted by the State of Georgia with this important project," said Martha D.M. Notaras, Xap CEO. "Xap has made significant investments in our core technologies, such as Mentor and electronic transcripts, and it's rewarding to see those validated once again in the marketplace. As more states tackle access and affordability issues surrounding higher education, we're confident that Xap has the tools and expertise to help."

The Student Access to Higher Education System will provide Georgia middle- and high-school age students, their parents, and guidance counselors with a suite of software tools and information to assist in college search and selection, academic planning to meet college entrance requirements, career planning, online applications for admission, and understanding state and federal financial aid opportunities.

The contract award from Georgia follows the success of a smaller scale website that Xap delivered for the 31 independent colleges in Georgia. The new "Georgia Mentor" site will provide information about all 100 public and private colleges in Georgia, including both two and four year institutions.

"The Georgia Student Finance Commission is pleased to partner with Georgia's other educational entities and Xap to expand access to higher education for Georgians. This exciting initiative has the potential to change the way Georgia students get ready, get set and go to college," said Shelley Nickel, GSFC President.

Xap currently provides similar "Mentor" systems (see www.cfnc.org or www.coloradomentor.org) to 35 customers including university systems, state and federal entities.

Xap's services include development and deployment of a statewide electronic transcript exchange that allows high schools and colleges to exchange secure official transcripts. The electronic transcript exchange will facilitate scholarship applications for Georgia's $501 million HOPE program, the largest state scholarship program in the nation.

Xap will also provide integrated online test prep services for both the ACT and SAT tests, including sample timed tests for students to complete as practice for the actual exams.
