Xap Corporation and Hershey Systems Form Partnership to Support Applications Processing for Colleges and Universities
Culver City, CA November 15, 2004 Xap Corporation (www.xap.com), the leading developer of online student services systems for associations and statewide groups of colleges and universities, and Hershey Systems (www.hershey.com), a leader in electronic-content capture, archive, and distribution, have formed a partnership and will combine their products and services to facilitate the admissions applications process for colleges and universities.
The companies will establish a standard interchange format and methodology to support integration between Xap's Control Center and Hershey's Singularity Software Suite; and consequently will manage and maintain interoperability between their products.
College institutions will have expanded capabilities to electronically and efficiently capture, manage, and store admissions applications data.
"Hershey Systems is extremely excited about our partnership with XAP Corporation.
We have worked together for quite a long time, and this partnership is the official step in what has been and what will continue to be a solid relationship," said Paul Blake, Director of Technical Marketing, for Hershey Systems.
"We believe that all facets of both companies will continue to work together under this partnership to immediately provide a seamless admissions process solution for our current and future clients."
The release is scheduled for the fall of 2005 and will be available to current and future clients for both companies.
- Colleges will have access to their online and hardcopy applications data from a centralized place that will produce complete reports and statistics for all applications received.
Hershey's optical character recognition software will extract the data from paper applications, and export the data back to Xap's Control Center for immediate access by college admissions.
- Colleges will have the ability to download Xap application data and produce a readable image of the data.
The image can automatically be imported and indexed into Hershey's Singularity Archive document management system; where upon successful import will produce a data file for upload into PeopleSoft, Datatel, and SIS-Plus with other student information systems to follow.
- College evaluators and counselors will be able to review applications data via a prepopulated online PDF form, and intelligently route the forms so the necessary decisions for admissions can be made prior to uploading the data to a student information system.
Hershey's Singularity Software Suite will take the downloaded Xap application data and automatically populate the data into an online PDF form.
The populated form will trigger an application review workflow.
"Xap is very excited about our partnership and project with Hershey Systems," said Jessica Wagoner, Director of Client Services for Xap.
"We believe this venture will provide the client institutions with more efficient solutions for handling their admissions processes, and will integrate easily with their student information systems."
