Xap Corporation Leads Online College Application Trend with 1.6 Million Applications Processed in 2005

Over 800 participating institutions throughout the U.S. have created undergraduate or graduate online admission applications with Xap.

Culver City, CA – April 21, 2006 – Online college applications are becoming the method of choice, as students and schools across the country are embracing the web to make its application process faster and easier for everyone. Xap Corporation, the nation's leader in online college planning solutions, processed over 1.6 million hosted applications for over 800 colleges and universities throughout the country in 2005. This is a significant increase from the prior year's 1.3 million applications for 700 colleges and universities. This is in line with a 2004 National Association for College Admission Counseling study that showed year-to-year online application growth of 22%.

Presently, Xap provides 35 comprehensive full-service online college access portals to participating states, regions, and postsecondary systems. The portals' student-centric focus helps students plan, prepare, apply, and pay for college. Their easy-to-use online tools are information rich, engaging, interactive, and widely used by students anytime from anywhere to prepare for postsecondary education. A one-stop solution, Xap's portals can provide information and tools for career planning and assessments, academic plan development, customizable college comparisons, standardized test preparation, online admission applications, electronic transcript exchanges with participating schools, and financial aid resources including integrated FAFSA and application processing.

"Xap's comprehensive college-planning solution, including online admission applications, enables postsecondary institutions to reach students they might not otherwise reach, while processing their real-time application data efficiently," said Liz Dietz, CEO of Xap Corporation. "For many schools, the college application-to-admission process has been a mixed bag of paper and stand-alone processes. Xap has streamlined this process to satisfy the real-time needs of postsecondary institutions and students alike."

Xap's sophisticated technology enables postsecondary institutions to minimize data entry and the need for error correction. In-depth data validations ensure application information is consistent and complete. The result is that postsecondary institutions are able to retrieve secure data synchronously in a format that can be integrated with their student information systems.

Xap's current clients include the largest four year and two year postsecondary education systems in the country – the California State University system and the California Community Colleges system. Illinois and Georgia are two of the newest statewide college planning portals launching last year.
