Student athletes can now send their academic transcripts electronically for NCAA certification.
Culver City, CA March 5, 2009
Xap Corporation announced today that thousands of student athletes headed for college can now send their transcripts to the NCAA Eligibility Center electronically via the Xap Transcript eXchange™, the nation's largest service having transmitted over two million transcripts to date. Previously, students were required to deliver a hard copy of their transcript to the NCAA if they were seeking eligibility to Division I or Division II intercollegiate athletic programs.
The Xap Transcript eXchange allows the student or counselor the ability to send a high school transcript via a secure, integrated system directly between participating institutions and now to the NCAA Eligibility Center.
"Our Transcript eXchange expedites the college-going process for the student athlete, and streamlines the recruiting process for athletic departments. Sending transcripts electronically saves time and money, as well as assures the most accurate transcript is always available at any point a during the college application and acceptance process," said J. Michael Thompson, CEO of Xap. "Adding the NCAA Eligibility Center to our proven Xap Transcript eXchange is just a natural extension to our growing system serving high schools and postsecondary institutions across the country," added Thompson.

About the NCAA Eligibility Center
The Eligibility Center opened in November 2007 as a replacement for the NCAA Initial-Eligibility Clearinghouse. With a staff of nearly 60 specialists, it performs the important task of certifying high school and international prospective student-athletes as initially eligible to compete in NCAA Divisions I and II sports. Certification decisions are made based on membership-approved NCAA academic and amateurism guidelines. Without this certification, prospective student-athletes cannot compete in Divisions I and II sports. Approximately 160,000 prospective student-athletes submit their credentials each year with approximately 65,000 of those going on to compete in NCAA sports. For more information, visit www.ncaa.org.
