Position summary:
The purpose of the Web Designer is to design and construct corporate and marketing web pages/sites, including incorporating graphic user interface (GUI) features and other Web 2.0 techniques.
Additionally, the Web Designer maintains and provides ongoing design of the website, promos and ad banners, seasonal content specials and custom communication features.
The position requires familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the particular field.
This position works under general supervision and reports to the Director, Marketing Communications.
A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Key Roles/Responsibilities:
- Corporate Web Site Management
- Responsible for the deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, and update of content, images and scripts relating to the Xap and Bridges corporate web sites
- Facilitate consistent function of navigation, scripting, form handling, presentation, and reliability of said sites
- Use web site "tools" to simplify, improve or enhance the usage of the corporate sites
- Work with internal and external production and graphics resources to design and maintain the web site as needed
- Web Marketing Communication Design and Deployment
- Create HTML and landing pages to support web marketing communications, including lead generation and newsletters
- Deploy, track, analyze and report on all web marketing communications
- Provide suggestions on how to improve communication performance
- Work with Marketing and Sales to deploy innovative web communications
- Corporate Intranet Coordination
- Oversee the coordination and use of corporate intranet, including announcements, blogs, discussion groups, and other internal communication
- Work with IT to upgrade functionality as needed
- Work with Marketing to make recommendations as needed to ensure a high level of internal communications is used on the intranet
General Responsibilities:
- Carry out the goals, plans and mission of the company as established by the Directors and Executive
- Serve as a member of the marketing team and participate in the regularly scheduled team meetings
- Maintaining, in good order, all records and files assigned to this function and the safekeeping of all company records including computer back-up information, and the personnel records
- Ensure that all company communications are conducted in an ethical and prudent manner
- Other duties and tasks as may be directed from time to time by the Director of Marketing Communications
Experience/Skill Requirements:
- 2 + years of web design experience
- Solid knowledge of HTML; Flash; Javascript; Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, and Project are highly desired
- Experience in the education field is a plus
- Web marketing experience is a plus
- Ability to perform basic database queries, merge/purge, and analysis is desired
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attitude and commitment to teamwork
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Information Technology, Communications or related field.
Salary:
Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
